Dr. Daniel van Raalte

Internist - Endocrinologist – UMC Amsterdam

• PhD at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Diabetology and post-doctoral research fellow at the University of British Columbia in Canada.
• Principal investigator and head of the clinical trial unit investigating pathophysiology of type 1 and type 2 diabetes as well as mechanism of action of novel glucose lowering agents such as incretin based therapy and SGLT-2 inhibitors with a particular interest in diabetic kidney disease

Prof. Dr. Subodh Verma

Cardiac surgeon – St. Michael’s Hospital Toronto

• Professor at the University of Toronto and the Canada Research Chair in Cardiovascular Surgery
• Received the Howard Morgan Award from the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Gold Medal in Surgery
• Member of the Royal Society of Canada College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists, and an inductee of the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons.
